These are a very specific parts of mechanical devices designed to as far as possible eliminate dangerous torsional vibration and ensure flawless operation of mechanical systems. In this area he implemented a number of engineering designs of pneumatic tuners and innovative practices, which primary aim was to as far as possible optimize the operation of mechanical devices. His “scientific research way” is thus naturally accompanied by a significant patent activities, by which it was adequately formed and enriched.

21 anniversary of creation of Slovak Republic was an occasion for a president of Slovak Republic, Ivan Gašparovič to award the state prizes. The state prizes are given to outstanding individuals for achievements in the field of culture, science, technique or education. Sixteen persons received various prizes. One of them was a dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering TUKE, Dr.h.c. mult. prof. Ing. František Trebuňa, CSc.

The Department of Biomedical Engineering and Measurement is one of the fundamental departments in the framework of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Technical University of Košice. It is a leading workplace in the Slovak biomedical engineering area as well as it is an actively cooperating partner in the Europe and abroad. The main scientific-research space of this Department is focused on the implantology field with a specific targeting on the tailored implants.
